Mehtaab Wachhair was born and brought up in India, a place known for rich culture, enriched art, and mesmerizing nature. Mehtaab is inspired by natural beauty and is a strong believer that art is an amazing way to express oneself. Mehtaab is a professional freelance artist and has earned her Masters in the History of Arts from Punjab University, Chandigarh, India and a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree, specialization in painting from the Government College of Arts in Chandigarh, India. Over the years, Mehtaab has explored many traditional artistic media to express her creativity, including acrylic paint, pastels, textiles, murals, papier-mâché, handicrafts, ceramics, oil paint and water colours. Mehtaab enjoys painting and creating with respect to the elements of nature as an expressive language to create art. To share her passion with the community, she takes art classes and organizes workshops for both national and international audiences. Her works are displayed in various public organisations, as well as private collections located in India, Australia, and North America. Mehtaab’s client list includes the City of Schomberg- King City and the City of Pickering. Her art has been exhibited at prestigious North American galleries such as King Museum, Dufferin Museum, Beaux Arts Gallery, and Kingcrafts Art Studio. She has also been honoured to showcase 31 artworks in a music book, ‘Namo-Geet Geetay’ which were showcased during the Sikh Art and Film Festival. To help spread her love for the arts, Mehtaab has written blogs for the Sikh Initiative and Beaux Arts and honored to display her work in solo exhibitions and various group shows. Her accolades include artworks for municipalities like banners for the city of Pickering, State level award in the All India Art Exhibition organized by the All India Fine Arts and Crafts Society (AIFACS) and piano painting for the city of Schomberg, King City. Through her artwork, Mehtaab wants to make a difference and bring happiness into peoples’ lives as art is the most mesmerizing way to express one’s feelings.
